SPB Hospitality, a franchisor of full-service restaurants, promoted Kristen Hohl to the role of vice president of marketing. Her previous role was senior director of marketing. Hohl joined Logan’s Roadhouse in 2018 as a marketing manager and then in 2020 continued on with SPB Hospitality as a marketing director. In her new role, Hohl will be responsible for marketing and brand development of SPB’s portfolio of brands, such as Krystal Restaurants and Logan’s Roadhouse.
“Kristen has been vital in our growth over the past five years, and we are proud to have her take on this new leadership role to further expand the presence and relevance of our brands,” said Josh Kern, CEO of SPB Hospitality, in a statement.
Jim McPhail,Sweetgreen’s chief development officer, is stepping down on Dec. 31 for reasons not explained. Replacing him is Timothy Noonan, the former vice president, operations strategy and restaurant concept design at Sweetgreen, who has been named senior vice president, development. In the new role, Noonan will take on tasks previously handled by McPhail, including site selection, lease administration and construction and facilities management, as well as continuing his prior responsibilities of restaurant concept design.
A new concept called Homeward Kitchen made its debut last week. And it named Jason Kornosky as VP of operations. He played a large role in the brand’s grand opening and will lead the company’s expansion efforts.
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has a new Denver hotel, Kimpton Claret Hotel. And the company, which is a part of IHG Hotel & Resorts named a general manager. Keith Siebenaler will take on the role and lead the hotel when it opens in the spring. Siebenaler has over two decades of hospitality experience. Most recently, he served as general manager for Kimpton Born in Denver and Kimpton Schofield in Cleveland. He started his career with the Fairmont in Chicago, Hawaii and Washington, D.C. About 10 years ago, he joined the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Baltimore.
Wingstop has a new chief information officer.Chris Fallon will lead the brand’s enterprise and restaurant technology solutions, IT infrastructure ad information security. Most recently, he served as chief information officer at Fortune Brands Water Innovations. He also formerly worked at Starbucks in CPG technologies. He has also held roles in retail back-of-house and corporate.
And Shake Shake’s CEO, Randy Garutti, is retiring in 2024. The company has begun its search for a successor and Garutti will stay on until a replacement is found and then become an advisor. Garutti started with the chain’s founding company Union Square Hospitality 24 years ago.
