You should pay close attention to a labor organizing effort at Hex and Co.
The three-unit board game cafe is testing new labor rules issued by the National Labor Relations Board that make it easier for workers to form unions. This week’s Working Lunch podcast from the public affairs firm Align Public Strategies features a discussion on this effort, why it is an important new test of the board’s organizing rules, and why this could have a substantial influence on restaurant industry labor relations.
But they also talk about union demands at a Waffle House in Georgia and discuss the current level of world chaos, particularly the disarray among Republicans in Washington, who do not have a Speaker of the House after Kevin McCarthy was ousted from his position last week.
