Is the retiring baby boom generation the reason for weak restaurant traffic?

It’s one possible explanation, according to Joe Pawlak, managing principal with Restaurant Business sister company Technomic.

Pawlak is the featured guest this week on RB's podcast, "A Deeper Dive," and he gives his views on what restaurant sales will look like this year and the reasons why industry sales have been challenged recently.

Traffic has been down for much of the past three years and shows little sign of improving. Pawlak discusses where sales are shifting and how companies can respond, including the potential that a growing number of retirees are eating out less often.
